For this piece, I wanted to illicit the chill and excitement in the air when watching new years fireworks.
An image birthed out of the love for a California sunset that is so unique and sometimes even bright pink, which inspired this quiet scene.
I found that there was a recurring theme of animal brides in fairytale folklore, where women would turn into animals and run away from their marriages. That idea compelled me to create this painting, which is a collage of paper, paint, laser etching, and marker, spread across 3 plexiglass plates which were then stacked.
